All Your Bedding Needs

Packing for a year in Israel? Here are some of the most useful tips gathered from all over the internet to help you pack better, safer, and forget less! If you have never packed for a long trip before, it is essential to review this list. Even veteran packers will find some useful information and reminders!
- Don't forget... Non-leather shoes for Yom Kippur
- Don't forget... Check yourself from head to toe to remind you of things – e.g. what do you need for your hair? (hat, shampoo, brush...) for your eyes (glasses, sunglasses, contacts…)
- Make sure to carry on all medication for the year – don't even THINK of packing them in your checked luggage. Also, bring photocopies of all your prescriptions. (and also leave copies at home.)
- Tear off old luggage tags or flight information so that your luggage doesn't wind up somewhere you've been before.
- Put your contact information (both in Israel and the US) inside each suitcase, so that if it gets lost it can find its way back to you. Also, put the name of your destination (school, yeshiva, seminary) on the outside of your luggage.
- Photocopy your passport and visa – take a copy with you and leave one at home, just in case something happens to it.
- Make sure someone at home has your credit card and ATM info- bank, account number, customer service phone #- in case it gets lost or stolen.
